We expect our teachers to be flexible and willing to adapt to a new setting in an intense atmosphere. They are also expected to be organized, to put in extra hours in order to prepare their classes and also attend the daily teachers' meeting run by the DOS (Director of Studies).
Teaching hours are 4-5 hours of class daily and you do not have duties as a monitor. Teachers will be contracted on a fortnight to fortnight basis and work for the whole month is not guaranteed. The fortnights are treated as entirely different courses which means that in the event that a teacher is given the opportunity to work with us for the month of July, they will have a whole new class (the same level will try to be maintained) the following fortnight. Coruña is our only 3 week course and teachers will maintain the same students for the full 3 weeks.
In the five residential courses (Uclés, Gredos, La Coruña, Palma, and the Pyrenees) transportation to and from Madrid on the first and last day is included as is room, board and meals. It is also important to note that all teachers will travel to each camp one day before students arrive. In the non-residential course (day camp in Madrid), lunch is provided; however, the teacher is responsible for his/her daily transport and his/her own housing. Teachers in the day camps must attend a mandatory pre-course meeting, which usually takes places on the Friday before camp begins.
What does Forenex provide?
Forenex provides a workbook made up of 10 worksheets per week, which are the basis for each level. These worksheets should be used in the classroom and supplemented with your own teaching ideas. such as creative activities, stories, or games. In all of our courses, we highly focus on the development of our students' oral skills. This means that you as the teacher need to constantly be encouraging your students to practice and improve their English skills, whether it be through creative activities, stories, speaking games or music.
